About the State Government Efficiency Blog

Our States are facing a budget crisis unlike anything we have known in our lifetimes. Agency budgets in many states have been cut while still more are under serious threat of cuts. This has created an intense pressure on virtually every corner of state governments to find ways to "do more with less." State agencies are scrambling to find solutions to these challenges which create the least damage to the quality and scope of services they provide.

This blog is a companion site to http://www.stategovernmentefficiency.info/ which contains lots of innovative and thought-provoking information about strategies, techniques and experiences from those working to increase government efficiency. There is a broad and diverse community of individuals and organizations working hard to create solutions for making government more efficient. The idea of the blog is to provoke a dialogue where interested readers can share their ideas, experiences, learnings and successes with others. Our role is to spark dialogue with questions, provocative content, and other material to get people talking.

We hope that as you read this blog that you will participate equally in the process, sharing your insights, commenting on what others have to say, and bringing your experiences to the dialogue. This will enrich all of us and assist in the process of finding creative, effective ways for our State governments to operate more and more efficiently. As part of the process we hope you will send us your comments to improve the blog and the quality of the dialogue it fosters. Thanks for participating!
